GUIDE Skill Gain

#21
The magery listing is incorrect. It currently takes around 10,000 casts to reach GM magery from 50, which is probably around 85k total.

FWIW, thought I'd share this little bit of data I compiled for lumberjacking:

I kept track of my skill gain for my first dozen hatchets used. Assumptions:
- Earlier hatchets have more total swings because you do not lose a hatchet "use" on a LJ failure AKA "you hack away at the tree" blah blah. There is still a skill gain chance on an LJ failure though.

Code:
Hatchet # Total Swings Total Skill Skill Gain % Gain Chance
1 600 54.4 4.4 7.3333%
2 600 58.9 4.5 7.5000%
3 575 61.6 2.7 4.6957%
4 575 64.5 2.9 5.0435%
5 575 66.8 2.3 4.0000%
6 575 69.4 2.6 4.5217%
7 550 71.3 1.9 3.4545%
8 550 72.3 1.0 1.8182%
9 550 74.2 1.9 3.4545%
10 525 75.5 1.3 2.4762%
11 525 76.9 1.4 2.6667%
12 525 77.8 0.9 1.7143%

I would have kept going past axe #12 but I forgot to grab the data for a few axes and, well, by that time it was too late!

Thanks for the info, using this guide all the time.
You don't need to constantly atempt to make fire in order to raise camping, it's enough to stand near one made by you. I have just GM'ed Camping with this macro. Cheers

This needs to be updated, Item ID does *not* benefit from active bonus anymore, so it'll be very slow. I'm at 80.2 with a 0.603% chance to gain.
