Tinkering traps are good for pvm?

Hi all !!!

Tinkering for pvm is viable? can i kill big bad mobs with traps? or traps are usefull?

Yesterday i think this build :

Tinkering 120
Det. Hidden 120
Alchemy 100*
Archery
100
Tactics 100
Arms lore 80
camping 100**


*Alchemy for boost damage/heal and for traps
** For boost and travels

i think a mage variation without alchemy

Tinkering 120
Det.Hidden 120
Magery 100
Med 100
Stealth 100
hidding 80
wrest 100


if anyone have better templates or idea pls tell me :D

Sadly it used to be too good for pvm and since then has been nerfed. The delay between traps in too long to have any meaningful impact over other templates.

Having said that it's still a fun template to play, especially as a solo tmap Hunter.


Edit: forgot to mention that tinkering will be very useful for the upcoming siege patch

Like Kilgu said, you are limited in the amount of damage you can do by the # of traps you can produce every 3 minutes. With my template, I get to place 7 traps every 3 minutes. It's not a lot.

This is my character I take along with my summoner to do tmaps. He's also still decent at shrine corruptions. But he's mainly for stealthing around dungeons unlocking dungeon chests. Fortune aspect armor makes his traps (and lockpicking abilities) even more powerful.

120 Lockpick
120 Remove Trap
100 Hiding
100 Stealth
40 Alchemy
