Spell-Related Skills

Eval Int
PvM
- Increases spell damage against creatures by (50% * (Eval Int Skill / 100))

PvP
- Increases spell damage against players by (25% * (Eval Int Skill / 100))

Inscription
PvM
- Increases spell damage against creatures when casting off scrolls by (20% * (Inscription Skill / 100))


Magery
- Minimum skill needed to cast spell is Spell Circle * 10
- Skill needed to cast spell with 100% success chance (no fizzling) is Minimum Skill Required + 20
- Exception is 1st circle Spells, which require 0 Minimum skill and at 30 Magery have a 100% success rate
- Casting a spell from a scroll increases a player's effective Magery skill by 20
- Players can gain magery skill by casting any spell that meet the minimum magery requirement for, but have a less than 100% chance of success on casting
- Default casting time is .5 seconds * (.25 * (Circle - 1))

Interrupts
- 1st circle spells have a 25% chance to interrupt player spells
- 2nd circle spells have a 50% chance to interrupt player spells
- 3rd circle spells have a 75% chance to interrupt player spells
- 4th circle spells or higher always have a 100% chance to interrupt player spells

- 4th circle spells will cause caster's next 1st, 2nd, or 3rd circle spell to have a +25% cumulative chance to interrupt
- 5th circle spells will cause caster's next 1st, 2nd, or 3rd circle spell to have a +50% cumulative chance to interrupt
- 6th, 7th, or 8th Circle spells will cause caster's next 1st, 2nd, or 3rd circle spell to have a +75% cumulative chance to interrupt
- Both creatures and players use this mechanic when determining if their spells will interrupt player casting

Damage Against Creatures
- Spell damage against creatures is increased by 200%

Charged Spells
- Spells cast by creatures against players, or players against creatures, have a 10% chance to be Charged
Charged spells deal an additional 50% to the target

Magic Resist Skill
- Spell damage taken is reduced by a minimum of (12.5% * (Magic Resist Skill / 100)) 
- Spell damage taken is reduced by a maximum of (25% * (Magic Resist Skill / 100)) 

- The chance to resist any hostile spell with a non-damaging effect (such as Curse, Poison, or Mana Vampire) is (40% - (Spell Circle * 5%)) * (Magic Resist Skill / 100)

Meditation
- Base passive mana regen rate is 1 mana restored every 2 seconds

- Mana regen rate is penalized by (2% * (player's Total Armor Meditation Penalty))
- Maximum mana regen rate possible is 1 mana restored every .5 seconds
- Minimum mana regen rate possible is 1 mana restored every 8 seconds

A player's Total Armor Meditation Penalty is equal to the combined Meditation Penalties of all armor worn

- Each piece of armor a player wears has an Meditation Penalty equal to it's (Armor Location Penalty * Armor Material Penalty)

For example, a player wearing a suit of all studded leather but with a platemail gorget would have: (.35 * .20) + (.22 * .20) + (.15 * .20) + (.14 * .20) + (.07 * .20) + (.07 * 1.0)) = 25.6% Total Armor Penalty

Which would result in a (2 * 25.6%) = -51.2% to player's Mana Regen rate

Examples of Total Armor Meditation Penalties and its effect on a player's Mana Regen rate for full suits of a single material are as follows:

Spirit Speaking
- Increases the duration of summoned creatures to (400% * (Spirit Speaking Skill / 100)) of normal
- Players have a (20% * (Spirit Speaking Skill / 100)) chance to upgrade the quality of creatures summoned with the Summon Creature spell, potentially summoning Orcs, Ogres, Trolls, etc
- Players have a (20% * (Spirit Speaking Skill / 100)) chance to upgrade their Summoned Elementals / Summoned Daemons to elder versions
- Elder versions of summons take 3 control slots
- A player's spirit speaking skill is capped by their Magery for the purposes of determining chances to upgrade summoned creatures

Auto Dispel
- Very high difficulty creatures will attempt to Auto Dispel a player's summoned creatures 
- Each Auto Dispel effect deals 60% of a summoned creature's maximum hit points as raw damage
- A player's summoned creatures have a (15% * (Spirit Speaking / 100)) damage reduction to Auto Dispel damage
- Water Elementals have a natural 15% damage reduction to Auto Dispel damage that stacks with the Spirit Speaking damage reduction

PvM
- Chance to cast a Charged spell against creatures is increased by (10% * (Spirit Speaking / 100))

PvP
- A summon created by a player has a (66% * (Spirit Speaking skill / 100)) chance to ignore another player's Dispel/Mass Dispel effect cast against it 


Spell Damage
Damage Formulas in Spell Listings Factor in the Following:
- Eval Int increases spell damage against creatures by (50% * (Eval Int / 100))
- Eval Int increases spell damage against players by (25% * (Eval Int / 100))
- Damage against creatures is increased by 200%

Resisting Effects
- Chance to resist and ignore the effects of any non-damaging hostile spells such as Weaken, Poison, Curse is (40% - (Spell Circle * 5% * (Magic Resist / 100)))
- All field spell effects, including even Fire Field which causes damage, can be resisted when player walks into or stands in them

Clumsy
- Resist chance is (35% * (Magic Resist / 100))

PvP
- Reduces target player's Dex by (11 * (Magery / 100)) for 2 minutes

Create Food
- Summons a paltry-level food item

Feeblemind
- Resist chance is (35% * (Magic Resist / 100))

PvM
- Reduces target creature's Spell Damage by (5% * (Magery / 100)) for 2 minutes

PvP
- Reduces target player's Int by (11 * (Magery / 100)) for 2 minutes

Heal
- Heals ((10 to 12) * (Magery / 100)) hit points to target
- After casting heal, a 5 second countdown starts for the caster
- Subsequent castings of the heal spell by that player while the 5 second countdown is still in place will reduce the spell's healing amount by a cumulative -10% and will also reset the countdown back to the full 5 seconds
- Effectively, a player must go 5 seconds without casting heal for the heal spell to return back to potency

If the target of the spell is poisoned, the amount of healing will be reduced as such:

Lesser Poison: 100% of normal healing amount
Regular Poison: 100% of normal healing amount
Greater Poison: 75% of normal healing amount
Deadly Poison: 50% of normal healing amount
Lethal Poison: 25% of normal healing amount

Magic Arrow
- Has a damage delay of 0.5 seconds

PvM
- Deals ((9 to 18) * (Magery / 100) * (.75 + (.5 * (Eval Int / 100)))) damage to target creature

PvP
- Deals ((3 to 6) * (Magery / 100) * (.75 + (.25 * (Eval Int / 100)))) damage to target player

Nightsight
- Provides 60 minutes of light for player in dark areas such as dungeons

Reactive Armor
- Reduces damage taken from melee attacks by 20% until maximum damage prevention amount has been reached

PvM
- Prevents a maximum of (20 * (Magery / 100)) damage 
- Damage prevention maximum increased by (40 * (Inscription / 100))
- Damage prevention amount will drop to the PvP maximum if player enters into PvP

PvP

Weaken

Magic Trap
- When cast on a pouch, will place a Magic Trap effect on it (the pouch will change color while Trapped)
- When cast on the caster themselves, will search the player's backpack for an untrapped pouch and place a Magic Trap effect on it (will notify the player if all their pouches are currently trapped)
- When opening a pouch with a Magic Trap effect on it, the player will take 1 damage and any paralyze spell currently affect the player will be lifted

Protection
- Increases caster's Armor Rating by (15 * (Magery / 100)) for 2 minutes
- Duration increased to (500% * (Inscription / 100)) of normal

Remove Trap
- Resist chance is (30% * (Magic Resist / 100))

PvP
- When cast onto a player, will remove a Magic Trap spell effect from one pouch in that player's backpack
- A player may only be effected by this spell once every 15 seconds

Strength
- Increases target's Str by (11 * (Magery / 100)) for 2 minutes


3rd Circle Spells

- Players must have at least 60 Poisoning to upgrade poison to Greater Poison

Recall
- Casting time is 2 seconds
- Transports the player to a targeted rune location
- Players may cast recall at most locations with a few exceptions
- Within dungeons, players may only cast recall within 8 tiles of a Golden Moongate 
- Players may not recall into a dungeon unless it is at a location that is within 8 tiles of a Golden Moongate
Several Golden Moongates can be found on the first level of each dungeon
- Players can double-click Golden Moongates to travel to a town of their choosing


5th Circle Spells

Blade Spirits
- Casting time is 6 seconds
- Summons a Blade Spirit which will pursue and attack the nearest creature or player (which may flag the player as attacking other players)
- Duration is (150 * (Magery / 100)) seconds
- Duration is increased to (400% * (Spirit Speak / 100)) of normal

Dispel Field
- Destroys a player-created Moongate, Wall of Stone, Energy Field, Firefield or Poison Field 

Incognito
- Randomizes the player's name, gender, skin tone, hair and facial hair
- Duration is (120 * (Magery / 100)) seconds

Magic Reflect
PvM
- Reflects the next hostile spell cast onto on the caster
- Has a ((100% - (Spell Circle * 10%)) * (Inscription Skill / 100)) chance to remain in place after reflecting a spell(it will sound and appear as if the player recast Magic Reflect when this occurs)

PvP
- Reflects the next hostile spell on the caster
- Has a (50% * (Inscription / 100)) chance to stay active and reflect a single additional spell before being nullified (it will appear as if the player recast Magic Reflect when this occurs)
- Will at most ever reflect 2 spells during PvP

Mind Blast
- Has a damage delay of 0.5 seconds

PvM
- Deals ((45 to 75) * (Magery / 100) * (.75 + (.5 * (Eval Int / 100)))) damage to target creature
Damage against creatures is increased by (Target's Armor Rating / 200%) 

PvP
- Deals ((15 to 25) * (Magery / 100) * (.75 + (.25 * (Eval Int / 100)))) damage to target player
Damage is increased based on the target's Total Armor Meditation Penalty
- Damage increase amount is (25% * (Target's Mana Rate Reduction)) to a maximum of +50% damage

- Poison field spell will default to Regular Poison
- Chance to upgrade poison to Greater Poison is (40% * (Poisoning Skill / 100))
- Chance to upgrade poison to Deadly Poison is (20% * (Poisoning Skill / 100))
- Players must have at least 60 Poisoning to upgrade poison field to Greater Poison
- Players must have at least 95 Poisoning to upgrade poison field to Deadly Poison

Energy Bolt
- Has a damage delay of 0.5 seconds


PvM
- Deals ((60 to 105) * (Magery / 100) * (.75 + (.5 * (Eval Int / 100)))) damage to target creature

PvP
- Deals ((20 to 35) * (Magery / 100) * (.75 + (.25 * (Eval Int / 100)))) damage to target player

Explosion
- Has a damage delay of 2.5 seconds


PvM

PvP

- Allows player to bind a location to a Recall rune for future usage with the Recall / Gate spell
- Players may mark most locations with a few exceptions
- Within dungeons, players may only cast Mark at locations within 8 tiles of a Golden Moongate 
- Several Golden Moongates may be found on the first level of each dungeon

Mass Curse
- Casts the Curse spell on all non-friendly targets within 4 tiles (will never flag player as criminal)

Gate Travel
- Casting time is 4 seconds
- Creates a gate at the player's location and the target destination of a recall rune or runebook
- Players may cast gate at most locations with a few exceptions
- Within dungeons players, may only cast gate within 8 tiles of a Golden Moongate 
- Players may not gate into dungeons unless the target location is within 8 tiles of a Golden Moongate
- Players may double-click a Golden Moongate to travel to a town of their choosing


Mana Vampire
- Resist chance is (5% * (Magic Resist / 100))
- Will not stack with any other castings of Mana Drain or Mana Vampire on target
- Effect will be overridden by Mana Vampire if that is cast on target
- Players may drink a Magic Resist potion of any type to nullify the effects of either Mana Drain or Mana Vampire on themselves

PvM
- Reduces target creature's Magic Resist by 50 * (Magery / 100) for 2 minutes

PvP
- Reduces target player's Magic Resist by 20 * (Magery / 100) for 2 minutes

- Non-friendly targets include criminals, murderers, members of warring guilds, or members of opposing factions
- Each creature has a (66% * (Their Caster's Spirit Speak skill / 100)) chance to ignore the mass dispel effect
- Treated as a criminal action against each creature affected, whether dispel effect is successful or ignored

- Has a damage delay of 0.5 seconds


PvM
- Deals ((45 to 75) * (Magery / 100) * (.75 + (.5 * (Eval Int / 100)))) damage to creatures within 3 tiles of target

PvP
- Deals ((15 to 25) * (Magery / 100) * (.75 + (.25 * (Eval Int / 100)))) damage to players within 3 tiles of target

- Player can may select a new gender or creature body for (120 * (Magery / 100)) seconds

this just HAS to be added here because without that update with the time windows dexers would be absolutely castrated in pvp.
some players may not even consider playing here if they didnt know about this.
