Mid-Sea Event
The ebb and flow of the Mid-Sea brings a torrent of new treasures fit for a smuggler! During this limited time event, players taking part in Ship-based activities may find Mid-Sea Cargo Containers which need to be returned to the Dockmasters of the lands.

Set sail for an event like no other in the lawless seas of Outlands!

This event begins on Saturday, June 24th at 11:00AM ET.
This event will end on Sunday, July 2nd at 11:59PM ET.

Note: Changes made for this year's version of the event are highlighted in ORANGE text

How Do I Participate?
  • Players on the Ocean will have a chance to encounter "Mid-Sea Cargo Containers" while participating in Ship-based activities
  • Players will earn [EventScore by returning these Mid-Sea Cargo Containers to Dockmasters stationed in Towns

Mid-Sea Cargo Containers
  • When an NPC Ship's Hold unlocks, there is a chance for any Player Ship that damaged the NPC Ship to receive a Mid-Sea Cargo Container (with chances scaled based on Damage done to the ship)
  • Players may also encounter Mid-Sea Cargo Containers when completing Messages in Bottles (MIBs) and Fishing Spots
  • Cargo Containers are placed directly into the player's Backpack

Cargo Restrictions
  • Cargo Containers are Bound to the player they are acquired by (they cannot be turned in by other players)
  • Cargo Containers cannot be Stolen but will drop to a player's corpse on Death
  • Cargo Containers will expire and be Deleted if not turned in within 4 hours of acquisition (explained later)
  • Players can see how much time remains until deletion for a Cargo Container by single-clicking it

Town Dockmasters
  • In order to increase their [EventScore for the event, players must return Cargo Containers to Dockmasters
  • Only Dockmasters that are located in Towns will accept Cargo Containers (players cannot use Dockmasters located in Houses)
  • Players can turn in cargo held in their backpack by shift-clicking the Dockmaster and selecting the "Event" option
  • Players can also turn in their cargo by speaking the word "Cargo" near the Dockmaster

Damaging Cargo Containers
  • Cargo Containers were only intended for Ship and non-Magical travel, so any mechanic that "Warps" a Cargo Container to an offscreen location will automatically damage it
  • Damaged Cargo Containers will adopt a Black hue and will be labeled as "damaged"
  • Damaged Cargo Containers can still be turned in to Dockmasters, however they will be worth a reduced [EventScore value

Cargo Containers will automatically become Damaged if they experience any of the following:

  • Recalling
  • Hiking
  • Using a Gate Travel Moongate, Public Moongate, or Chivalry Moongate
  • Entering or exiting a Rental Room
  • Using the "Help Stuck" mechanic to warp to town
  • Being in a Pack Animal's container and being warped to a new location (such as with the "Retrieve All Followers" mechanic from stables)
  • Being sent to a house through a Shipping Crate from a ship when Docking
  • Being sent to a Bank Box through a Distribution Chest, cancelled Rental Room contract, or collapsed Rental Vendor
  • Additionally, Cargo Containers will also become Damaged if left inside of player Bank Boxes

Cargo Destination
  • Players are allowed to turn in Cargo Containers to Dockmasters in any town
  • However, each Cargo Container has an optional Town destination

  • Players can view the optional Town destination for a Cargo Container by single-clicking it

Updated Event post for handling for Bank Boxes and added 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Mid-Sea Treasure Trove prizes

The first annual Mid-Sea Event has come to a close! Over 333 sailors braved the vastly expanded oceans to return precious cargo to port in good condition. All prizes have been automatically distributed to your bank boxes. In the end, Captain Alpha Nightshade [FS!] ruled the shipping lanes and cornered the cargo market, landing in 1st Place. Well done!
