Murdered to much

Just wanted to say thank you to the Pk's that have made me decided to quit Outlands. I've only been playing for a couple months but just stopped having fun the last week or so with every time I'm out farming 1-4 pks roll by and I lose everything. I understand that other people enjoy this part of the game but to know that if a pk rolls up im dead almost 90% of the time even with tracking to tell me they are coming. Why is it that if you have magery you can recall out with no problem but if you have been in combat you have a 30 second period where you cant chivalry gate out. ive died so many times because i see a PK pop up with tracking but cant get out because i was just fighting something. It was fun while it lasted.

We hope you find a shard you enjoy! When searching, look for one that advertises Trammel or non-PvP.

Personally i think that this PK thing is too much for noobs (being one myself). I think there are many circumstances where PK-ing takes all the fun away for both PKs and NonPKs. On one side, if i go around with 3-5 red friends killing single lone players that don't represent a menace for me or my group, i would be bored as hell. I mean if my PK character is strong enough i would go where the fun is, straight with the groups of players grinding together. I don't understand the mindset behind 3, 5 or more reds targeting one lone noob trying to earn its goods with effort. Sincerely that would take all the fun and i would stop playing. What fun it is if you don't have an oposing force to make you struggle to survive? PKs nowadays are silly and cringe why would they take that path if they just play like cowards.

I don't PK as red, i PK reds as a non red. And when i have to fight 2 reds by myself it is a lot of fun if at least i can kite for a while. Doesn't matter if i loose $100,000 or more in goodies. But what is making players leave is when you are struggling to survive playing alone and 5 reds come straight and kill you without even having chance to retaliate or at least kill the mobs you were fighting.

If i played as a red i would choose my targets to have more fun, i would die more often but at least i wouldn't mess with noobs/loner struggling to make their characters strong. May be one day i'll build a PK template and become red, but i would gladly respect the fun of others. Otherwise what is the point?

PK-ing loners and noobs is no fun for me, at least is how i see things now. I would also recommend playing in town struggles to learn some useful PvP stuff that get you ready against reds.

I am still learning, and struggling to not stop playing :D

Yeah it's rough no denying it, but if you go into this shard with both eyes open knowing full well it's going to be difficult, you find yourself not getting so upset when you get pked. You'll put more effort into changing your approach so you die less. You might even find yourself embracing being broke and playing a pure pvper and just doing the events.

I've been starved for games that truly challenge you, and require you to think critically and change your approach if something isn't working. The people who I notice get the most frustrated to the point of quitting are usually doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. If you can't adapt or change your approach, this game will chew you up and spit you out.

You'll put more effort into changing your approach so you die less.
This is the key. While I of course hate being PKd. I take it as an opportunity to improve myself - to make myself a better farmer. Make that PK death mean something by learning from it. What could I have done differently? What steps can I take to avoid a death if that same situation were to arise again? It makes the game replayability fun. I find it interesting to see exactly how much glass cannon I can get away with.

There are some PK deaths that you really can't do much about - they happen. But the vast majority of PK deaths are avoidable if you were to have made some small adjustments like adding in a defensive skill like tracking or resist -or- if you didn't farm youself into a corner or into some narrow corridor. If you have no intention to review your gameplay to make improvements and become better, then this game probably isn't for you and that train is just gonna keep running you over.

If only you could recall instead of trying to use a chiv gate.
Say like, if you could put a recall scroll in your rune book and use that, even if you had zero magery.
That would be great.

one pick better locations to farm, theres plenty of spots in every dungeon where you have to run by a spot down then around to0 get to it. farm closer to gates, thers other techniques but i wont say them out loud. hit me up in game.

Pkers are one of two types of people, they were either the bullies of the school or they were the ones that got bullied and now they want revenge. It’s more expensive to be as some like to call it (Trammys) than a murdering low life. When you get pk’d you lose armor, weapons, gold, loot , fame and what ever
you are carrying after earning all of it and taking your time to do it. Pk comes along and takes it because they can. They get free loot, armor, weapons and it cost them nothing. Outlander love to coddle Pkers as well. What’s the punishment for being a murdering scumbag? They have to pay a rez fee (big deal) they can make that fee up with a murder or two. Plus They can run into there houses when being chased. I’ve probably said to much already and probably get banned because you seen the response you got ( saying find a place like tram). If you want to be a decent person I guess Outlands doesn’t think you deserve a place to play, but if you are a jerk, this is the place for you.

play a stealther, boom now you almost never get pked
Boy, if that were only true, PKers get to detect hidden and even if you have 120 hiding and stealth the Pker still gets to detect you. The only chance you have it is hoping you can out run these so called (players) I love UO but because I don’t like pkers I’m told to find a place like tram, pretty sad.

balance here is build that way that a pvp template wins over pve template. and since most of your game time is farming xp for aspect/chain/redline, yould be playing your pve farming tune and be always vulnerable to red pvpers. best way is to run off and recall, make a script for instant recall from a runetome. at the end of the day you should have farmed profit larger then the loss to pks.
