NPC Trades

First hello you all!
I'am back to OU in about 15 or more years. So, many of what i knowed is now confused.
Then, if some one can help me:

Does NPC buy something?
What?
I use to be fishermen, still it profitable?

I may be wrong, but the shard has politics to player vs player trade only. Then, if am correct only mining is really a job here?

And last one... where is the poker tables??? :D

Welcome to the server! Don't forget to check out the Outlands discord community for more information (and more immediate replies).

Here is some information on the questions you asked.
  1. NPC's do purchase items from players. However anything worthwhile you will most likely want to sell to other players as they will generally give you more money than NPCs. As an example, I used to sell gems to the jeweler, but I now save those for other players because I see (in discord) people buying for 10-15% more than vendor prices.
  2. Fishing off the coast is not profitable. Fishing can be profitable if you do it amongst other activities while boating. Outlands has a large boating community (PvM in the Ocean... also very lucrative). But I have heard it is very cutthroat, there are pirates and murderers out there so you must be careful. I still have yet to delve into this area of outlands.
  3. I'm not sure what you mean by the politics of player vs. player trade. Mining, Lumberjacking and Skinning (Forensic Evaluation) are all lucrative gathering skills. You can completely support whatever you do in game via gathering only. Though in the end, a developed, high end PvM character has the ability to bring in more money.
  4. The poker table is in the Prevalia Casino, just East of the Northern Prevalia Bank.

Just to clarify on #1, NPC's by design here buy very little from players - gems are one of the few things they actually buy, I also believe they by resources at an absolute crap price, like 1 gp per, when you can sell to players much higher.

Very little else is sellable to NPC's..

Cool, didn't know that. I've been selling to NPC's all this time. What do players use them for?
