The following Creature Slayer and Dungeon Slayer link bonus types will no longer exist on the server:
  • Damage to Beastial Creatures
  • Damage to Construct Creatures
  • Damage to Daemonic Creatures
  • Damage to Elemental Creatures
  • Damage to Humanoid Creatures
  • Damage to Monstrous Creatures
  • Damage to Nature Creatures
  • Damage to Undead Creatures
  • Aegis Keep Damage
  • Cavernam Damage
  • Darkmire Temple Damage
  • Inferno Damage
  • Mount Petram Damage
  • Nusero Damage
  • Ossuary Damage
  • Pulma Damage
  • Shadowspire Cathedral Damage
  • Mausoleum Damage
  • Wilderness Damage

Conversion
  • Players will have the option to double-click any "Damage Dealt By Player" Link and convert it to a link of any bonus type
OFReUhI.png

  • The Link Conversion menu now has a drop-down handling for selection of the new link type to convert into
  • Players can click "Upgrade Link" twice after they have made a drop-down selection to convert the link to its new type

Note: We dont intend for there to be any "time limit" on how long players will have to convert their links, so players can take their time to decide which links to change to

Redline System

Upgrade Point Costs

  • The cost of the Mastery Chain Link Limit upgrade is now 8 (previously was 5)
  • The cost of the Max Damage For Any Hit upgrade is now 3 (previously was 2)
  • When this goes live, players who are now over their points limit (because of cost changes) will need to reset their Redline Upgrades

Unlocking Redline Points
  • When players "Unlock" a new redline point at a location, the amount of Redlightning Bottles and Redline Certifications needed to be consumed will now increase by 1 for every 25 Total Redline Points the player has unlocked
  • For examples, players at 25-49 Total Redline Points will need to consume 2 Redlightning Bottles and 2 Redline Certifications to unlock a further Redline Point, while players at 50-74 Total Redline Points will need to consume 3 Bottles/Certifications, and so on
  • Players who are already at these thresholds (25 / 50 / 75 / etc) will not retroactively need to consume more Bottles/Certifications for points they have already unlocked, but they will for any future Unlocks

House Decay/IDOCs and House Lotteries
  • Houses that decay will now always create both a House Lottery and and Item Collection Lottery for that house, and will no longer have a chance to "drop" and be deleted (which would become a "public" IDOC)
t4vWGrk.png

  • Item Collection Lotteries will now consist of 50% of the items from the house (previously was 33%) and the remainder will be deleted
  • Item Collection Lotteries will always include any Storage Shelves or Resource Stockpiles contained in the house (same as before)
  • House NPCs (Stablemasters, Dockmasters, Healers, etc) at the house can now occur as Deeds as of Item Collection Lotteries
  • Fixed several display issues with Item Counts and Weight amounts displayed to more accurately represent all items for the Item Collection Lottery

I like combating power creep. And the removal of slayer and dungeon links removed a long term goal I had to collect a set of each. At one hand I no longer have to spend $$ on them, on other hand I no longer have this goal ... and one less reason to play.

The Redline changes feel like the nerf is targeting the very few people with 38+ links and an attempt to make the other options more lucrative by making the good ones more expensive, instead of buffing the weaker ones.

Probably out of Scope for this patch's goals, but damn it, I hoped the Swing Speed Nerf of 20% (bronze going from 1% to 0.8%) would have been un nerfed, in light of the big change in how so many skills now provide Swing Speed, that nerfing the links makes very little sense; in fact when I asked about it in Discord General, the general consensus was that I shouldn't even use Swing Speed links, even if they weren't nerfed haha

Oh, and the patch rocks! For someone with 0 interest in IDOCs and Lotteries heheh.. (sorry forgot to say that, and it truly does even though I QQ)

What happeend to your power creep concern? This redline choice was clearly the most powerful. Of course a nerf was needed. The solution isn't to massively buff every other option there. THAT would be major power creep.

Exactly - Many of us had 10 of the majority if not all of those slayers so we have alot of free reforging to do. Alot easier to get the links we want but there is 1 less goal now and I was looking forward to having a full set of 10 golds of dungeon slayers. It helps the new guy but the rest of us have to rethink which links to use now. I'll be set on links for awhile.......

UO just doesn't feel like UO without IDOC drama. A part of the nostalgia of this game gone forever.

Yea of the 100-150 guilds (no ideae exact amount) here, there is what, ONE guild that regular does them? Maybe a couple others who try to show some resistance every now and then... For sure they'll have to fill in that gap with something else.

I don't understand the IDOC move. That was a classic portion of UO pvp. It feels like we keep putting more toes in the trammel pond...

I placed a lot of idocs by myself without a guild. It's a question of skills, timing and probably a lot of luck too and probably one of the most loved aspect of UO since the beginning about 30 years ago.

I mean GG, SQZD, NKB, NC, F, VV etc. were seen at IDOCS pretty regularly. Plus it was always nice seeing a loner show up and get the placement. An IDOC helped me get established on this server. Showed up to one, grabbed some floating balloon thingy. Looked on the discord saw it was going for like 2m and had a little nest egg to start buying codices, cores, etc. Now it's just going to make the rich richer in auctions....

So we get rid of IDOCs and replace them with lotteries... no PvP, no thrill of the drop, no timing for placement, no coordination in guilds, and no skill involved. Just another gold sink where the only exciting "element of chance" is if you have enough gold to dump into it and win. Mission accomplished, I guess? Removing a core element of UO for the rich to get richer. Boooooring. 👎
