Shadowspire Cathedral Dungeon
  • The expansion introduces our 10th dungeon: Shadowspire Cathedral
  • Shadowspire Cathedral is intended as an extremely difficult dungeon, with its deepest levels requiring group coordination to tackle its denizens

  • During the first 30 days of the expansion, players will have very rare chances at acquiring a limited number of Settlement Passes as loot within the dungeon
  • Settlement Passes are bound to the player who earns one, and will NOT prevent them from winning the Settlement or Mooring Lotteries

  • Shadowspire Cathedal features a Mini-Boss and Boss who will have chances at dropping rare, decorative loot
  • Players will earn Tokens of Heroism for killing the Mini-Boss and Boss of Shadowspire Cathedral, however at the moment players are NOT required to have those Tokens in order to summon an Omni Boss (we will be deciding later how to integrate these new tokens)

  • Players will also have a very, rare chance of looting Tapestry pieces while inside Shadowspire Cathedral (similar to Hieroglyph loot for Ossuary 4 dungeon)
  • There are 4 different Tapestry scenes, with 10 individual pieces for each (40 total randomized pieces)

I think this may be my favorite dungeon of all time - granted there's soo many people it's crazy.. but when wandering through the cathedral, on level two, with the giant pillers, the feeling of grandiose is amazing, I feel like an ant, in a giants play area.. It is extremely well done, beautiful... But on top of that, the shadow gates, or dream gates, whatever we are calling them, are genius, so many nostalgic moments, in a fun, enjoyable system there... I can't get enough of it..

Monster difficulty is up there, rewards are worth it, all around, a great great addition to Avadon.

Thank you Owyn for a beautiful Map, thank you Luthius for great monsters and effects, and the rest of staff for your contributions as well!

Shadowspire Cathedral is flat out an awesome dungeon.

  • Running down level 1 and being able to vagely see level 2 is flat out neat.
  • Running around the Courtyard (I believe this is level 3) and seeing people run around outside the dungeon is also so cool to see.
  • The difficulty is spot on.
  • The Flameshaper is such a cool mob, you have to be on your tip-toes fighting that guy. I still white knuckle it though killing him, have yet to find a ‘way’ to kill him without mashing my heal pot and chiv heal buttons. You better know this mobs location and pay attention to your surroundings.
  • The Spectral Pontiff is freaking scary looking – one badass mob. First time I fought it I swear 110 of my 120 HP was knocked off from one spell. However, I have killed a couple solo and didn’t run into this issue (although the Pontiff hits extremely hard still). I’m pretty sure this has something to do with other players and splash damage, but I haven’t quite figured it out yet.
  • Horned Devil is neat.
  • Volcanic thing I can’t figure out. Sometimes I kill him half asleep, other times it seems like he tears through me.
  • Last but not least, the fkn annoying ass scorcher. Both of my deaths down there are due to this guy and me underestimating his damage. He usually pops up and sometimes does some wicked damage. I need to start remembering to remember where he is and expect him to pop up.
I’m pretty much exclusively farming this dungeon – it is flat out a badass dungeon. I’m a little scared what things will be like when I have to visit some of the other dungeons.

P.S. And screw the hornbeast, If I get caught with that disease I basically have to completely reset cause I will blow every cooldown I have to stay alive. However, I can't really complain considering I haven't invested in too many defensive skills.

Great dungeon, because it makes my Earth aspect viable :)

joking aside,

I agree all of these 4 points completely - if you get disease by hornbeast, just die.
