How Do I Participate?

Empty Soul Jars and The Occult Merchant

• To participate in the event, players will need to obtain an Empty Soul Jar
• Empty Soul Jars will occur as uncommon loot from most gameplay systems (Monster Corpses, Dungeon/Treasure Map Chests, Ship Holds, etc)
• Players may alternatively purchase Empty Soul Jars for 1000 Gold from an Occult Merchant in Prevalia or Corpse Creek
• Players may say "Event", "Field", "Souls", "Halloween" near the Occult Merchant to open the Field of Souls Menu
• Players may also shift-click the Occult Merchant and select "Event" from the context menu to open the Field of Souls Menu
• Players can click the "Purchase Empty Soul Jar" button from this menu to spend 1000 Gold and have an Empty Soul Jar placed in the player's Backpack (they are not blessed, but cannot be stolen)

Eerie Corpses and Filling Soul Jars

• Eerie Corpses will randomly spawn across the world in Towns, Dungeons, and Wilderness locations
• If a player double-clicks an Empty Soul Jar while within 4 tiles of an Eerie Corpse, it will remove the Eerie Corpse, and the player's Empty Soul Jar will be replaced with a Filled Soul Jar bearing the name of the Eerie Corpse

• Filled Soul Jars are bound to the player who collected them
• Filled Soul Jars will decay in 60 minutes unless brought to an Occult Merchant
• Players can single-click on a Filled Soul Jar to see who it is bound to and how much time remains before they decay

• Empty Soul Jars are Stackable

Entering the Field of Souls

• Players may only enter the Field of Souls if they have a Filled Soul Jar in their possession that is bound to them
• Players may click the "Enter the Field of Souls" button on the Occult Merchant's Field of Souls menu to enter the Field of Souls Event Region

• Upon clicking the "Enter Field of Souls" button, players will be prompted to choose between two seperate Instances of the Field of Souls to enter
• Players can see how many Players are currently inside each of the instances
• The Normal Difficulty instance has no unique mechanical or scoring changes
• The Hard Difficulty instance features harder monsters and mechanics, but players will earn an additional 33% to their Score inside (which will stack with other bonuses specific to the event)

• Players will be allowed 15 minutes within the Field of Souls, and will be ejected to town upon its completion

Surviving the Field of Souls

• Eerie Spirits will NOT attack a player unless it is attacked first

• Reapers of Souls, Roaming Nightmares, and Roaming Terrors WILL attack players on sight

• Deathbloom plants can be found in the Field of Souls and can be harvested by double-clicking them
• Harvesting a Deathbloom plant will grant the player a large amount of [EventScore, but they will become "Doomed" and after 30 seconds will lose 75 health (ignores armor / damage resistances)

Skeletal Mounts

• Eerie Spirits and Reapers of Souls have a chance to spawn as Mounted

• If an mounted Eerie Spirit or Reaper of Souls is killed, they will leave behind their Skeletal Mount which any player can ride by double-clicking it
• Skeletal Mounts will disappear if the player riding it Dies, Dismounts, or leaves the Field of Souls area

How Do I Earn Event Points?

• Filling a Soul Jar: 30 Points
• Slaying an Eerie Spirit: 10 Points
• Slaying a Reaper of Souls: 30 Points
• Harvesting Deathbloom: 30 Points
• Slaying a Roaming Nightmare or Terror: 90 Points
• Slaying an Eerie Spirit matching a Filled Soul Jar: 60 Points and +33% Bonus to Future Points (for the rest of the session)
• All point bonuses are increased by 33% if player chooses the Hard Difficulty instance

Slaying Name-Match Eerie Spirits

• Each Eerie Spirit in the Field of Souls has a specific Name
• Each Filled Soul Jar belonging to a player also has a name listed which will correspond to an Eerie Spirit inhabiting the Field of Souls
• Other players will not be able to damage an Eerie Spirit if it corresponds to another player's Filled Soul Jar (between 1-5% of Eerie Spirits in the region will have name-matches)
• Players can single-click their Filled Soul Jar to see the name of its corresponding Eerie Soul

• If a player kills the Eerie Spirit in the Field of Souls that has a name matching the one on their Filled Soul Jar, they will receive a large amount of [EventScore, and they will receive a 33% bonus to all further [EventScore they earn during the remainder of their 15 minutes in the Event Region
• This bonus will stack with the Hard Difficulty bonus (for a total bonus of +66%)

A player kills a name-matching Eerie Spirit, and receives [EventScore as well as a bonus to future [EventScore amounts earned


Additional Event Info:

• Empty and Filled Soul Jars cannot be stolen by players (but can be looted)
• Any Filled Soul Jars will shatter within 60 minutes if not brought to the Field of Souls
• Players may only enter using Filled Soul Jars that they themselves have captured
• Players will have 15 minutes within the Field of Souls, regardless of how many Filled Soul Jars they take in, and then be ejected to town
• Players cannot perform harmful acts to other players in the Field of Souls
• All items on a player are considered Blessed while inside the Field of Souls region
• Leaving the Field of Souls (by any means) will shatter any Filled Soul Jars on a player
• There are around 150 Town, 800 Dungeon, and 100 Wilderness Eerie Corpse locations
• A new Eerie Corpse spawns every 30 seconds until there are about 100 active Eerie Corpses in the world

[EventScore and Rank %

• Each player has an [EventScore based on how well they do during the event
• Players can type [EventScore to see their current EventScore for this event (scores are updated hourly)
• At the end of the event, each player will have an Event Score Rank % determined for them based on how their [EventScore compares to all other players
• Example: a player who ranked 100th in [EventScore out of 1000 total players will have a Rank % of 90% (since they did better than 90% of all other players)

What Are The Prizes?

• Prizes for this event are distributed directly to player Bank Boxes at the end of the event
• Players will receive ALL prizes shown below that their Rank % matches or exceeds

• Outlands Collectable Card [All Players]
• Gothic Vase (Dyeable with Furniture Dye) [5-25% Rank]
• Skeletal Bird Cage [25-50% Rank]
• Haunted Bust (Animated) [50-75% Rank]
• Skeletal Harpist (Animated, Random Hue) [75-95% Rank]
• Pentagram Mastery Chain (functional Mastery Chain) [95-100% Rank]

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winners will receive a unique Bat Trophy!
