Forensic eval vs item id for backstabbing

I'm not sure what the damage difference would be between these two, right now I have forensic ID and use avarite weapons, but was curious to hear from anyone using 120 item id with vanq weapons, because i notice vanqs are a lot more expensive than avarite. Should I keep forensic with avarite weps or is item ID with vanq weps better?

Item ID is definitely better from a damage perspective, you are doubling the vanq effect of 25% at 100 Item ID, for a cool 50%, or 55% with 120 - the increase isn't huge, and if only using vanqs, forensics maybe more beneficial with colored leathers. If the item also has slayer effects it increases those as well by 60% at 120 skill - make them much better.

Vanqs were always the go to over avarite because backstabbing gives an accuracy bonus, and vanq was always higher than avarite in terms of damage bonus.

Forensics at 120 is 30% damage bonus - so the 19% + 30% is still only 49%.

The real question in all of this - do you have access to vanqs (and is it worth it for a slight damage increase), and if you do have vanqs with slayer properties, are you going to risk them considering the value they could have?

I could definitely spend the gold on high end vanqs if I really wanted to, and I don't die very often. I think I made 1.3mil with one avarite weapon before I got blown up by reds and lost it, and I deserved to get wrecked anyway for not paying enough attention

Avarite weapons are relatively cheap and plentiful compared to slayer vanqs. Sounds like I should keep forensic, the income from selling colored leather is a nice thing to have too.

Edit: So I actually tested it and realized I was wrong about the numbers, avarite gives 19%, power gives 20% and vanq is 25%. Item Id did do more consistent damage with power and vanq, but not by much, because item ID only gives you a bonus when using magic weps. The only scenario where item ID is just flat out better all the time is with slayer/power or better. But with a backstabber that's not really relevant if you're hitting the 10k damage cap for backstab. If you have a bunch of backstab links you're going to hit that cap regardless of weapon. Forensic also gives you hamstring, which is really useful against bigger mobs that take 2-3 backstabs to kill.
