Admittedly there were some good points made and I guess it was a bit much to expect actual housing. Still though I think resources are getting tight. Lord help you if you need nightshade.
Nice man. And I've played since '97 and been a newbie, but have also owned castles, keeps, gate houses worth insane amounts. This game is better played and more enjoyable with a place to call home. I find the healthy shard argument a bit weak and lazy, but it is an easy one for sure. Prime and large real estate should definitely be valuable, though.I lived out of the bank for my first year of UO. Nowhere to place and home prices were crazy high. Lack of available housing isn't unique to Outlands...its just the sign of a healthy shard. NOOOGRAHHH!!!
I remember you. Least your name. I have played straight from about 2000-2001. Every shard I played (except OSI Siege Perilous) seemed to have issues with housing. Either people wanted bigger or better homes (castles, keeps or near gates/cities) or they just wanted to place a spot. Everytime I hear about more housing I think of Malas and how spread out it seemed to make the population.Nice man. If you are the same dude I think you are. Won't take you long to get up to speed here and owning huts quickly.I don't disagree with anything you said, but I believe you are missing my point. Anyway, just my two cents as someone just getting going on here. I know most of you have been around for years and enjoy the things you have worked for being valuable, and I don't blame you. I will do as most everyone here is saying - shut up and use an inn room for the next year and pretend homes don't exist
The no recall out of the inn was the one annoyance I had with it. The change in the recent patch was a nice surprise.I been on here for almost 2 months, I still dont got a house on here.
I don't mind it at all. I use the Inn system, and its alot better than nothing thats for sure.
Just some people think its possiable to log-on. Place house, and wham.
Took me 3 weeks just to get aspect as in earning it myself.
The new recall out of Inn is also grand.!
Been looking for a place but i dont want no wagon thats for sure. So ill just save till i can afford something thats better than a Inn
What happened to Owyns hand? After listening to an Inside Outlands interview with Owyn, I want to say that having a painful/injured hand really sucks when you would use it so much to work on the world map. Without hearing that interview, I would have never known that and although it is a personal issue, it really informs the community that the world would possible grow but the pain needs to hopefully heal because there is no need to cause undo stress on a limb just to make space for a few more houses. So I hope you get well and I don't even care if it is "soon" as much as just getting well.
You can listen to the podcast on Spotify. Not a ton of info, but just mention that he hurt it and it didn't fully heal correctly due to constant clicking/developing Outlands map. What happened to Owyns hand?
Can't leave me on a cliffhanger like that.
I'm not sure why it's unfair for newer players, that established players have put in their time, and worked towards what they have. With that said, the inn system gives you all the luxuries of a home, with none of the drawbacks - sans one, which is you won't see people running around - for some that's actually a bonus. Are there any plans? I mean its possible to just add a landmass for very small houses (like placing rocks&trees so only small houses are fiting in) , so newer players like me could afford a cheap deed. Its okay if the bigger ones are rare and very expensive ( still pretty... unfair for newer players without 15millions of gold ^^. ).
