I am hoping to start a conversation regarding this topic. I would like to hear others thoughts on this and I would also like to see if the server's admin team has a stance on this issue.
Regarding end game PvM character advancement, most people play ONE character. The main reason for this is the Mastery Chain and the time required for progressing it. If someone wants to play another template, they will just purchase an echo on the same character so they maintain the progress they've already put forth toward their Mastery Chain AND continue to level that Mastery Chain that they have already invested so much in.
My specific question is, why are Mastery Chains tied to a character vs. the account? Additionally, what would be the cons to tying Mastery Chains at the account level?
No one will be leveling more than one mastery chain. The only thing I can come up with is that when a person starts to purchase multiple echoes 3+, the gold/items taken out of the game are far greater than if I were to create multiple characters. This leaves us having to abandon all other PvM characters and put all resources into one character if we want to maximize benefits from progressing our mastery chain.
Thoughts?
