Post expansion ideas (consolidate over time)

Luthius has implemented hundreds of our ideas and dreams since 1998, thanks hoss!


1. 3-4 minute base potion duration in pvm

2. Some type of boost to crafted gear (essence for swing speed?) based on arms lore synergy

3. Resist: let many mob range/aoe attacks (not obviously physical like bash or stone chucking/plant darts etc) proc the pvm damage and reduce damage 10-15% of those attacks somewhat similar to boss mechanics

4. Some non-holiday chase random mobs (goblins, gnomes etc) that drop loot

5. Replace arcane stance due to overlap with accuracy and purpose for non-archers mostly (hit anyway)

6. Consider fowling 1/2 effective DR vs other targets hit in last 5-10s (multi tag mobs?)

7. Consider dex boosting past 80 “a luck effect” such as the dice rerolls/max dice mechanics from early expansion test

160/80 dex 10% chance, while 80 dexxer = 5% (.5% per 10 dex )

maybe have the “font color change” in the journal, system messages or when clicked it “multi” like green instead of additive (default colors it is now), might help clarify mechanics over time
 
Chance for lich lords or ancient liches to spawn in cemeteries (random overland events)

Possibly mechanics for players to trigger harder mobs similar to progressive spawns

Like collect a coin of styx (expire in an hour) and after 10 an undead rift opens
 
A sticky mechanic for pvp dexxers for greater pots or anyone with 120 alchemy but with a two minute cooldown (no magery)
 
Replace “arcane stance” for archery so its helpful for dexxers instead of other classes without arms lore, item id or focus accuracy boosts

Suggestions:
A. Swing speed boost

B. Luck dice (reroll or max dice chance)

C. Damage + 7x3 DR to all targets unlike fowling (similar to arcane buildup)
 
Arms lore seems to be less effective with new anti-disarm boss mechanics

When your disarm triggers but its already active by another player have it do xyz instead. Idk what xyz would be. Possibly allow it to 1/2 boost melee special chance (120 = 12 then + 6% new bonus)

81-120 are also dead points for pvp. Let it scale/extend disarm duration
 
Consider retooling/auditing underutilized links after expansion

The multiplicative links turn the slow linear progression of aspect, links etc to a 2-3x dps booster (less linear)

The boost from 1 link vs 30 isnt 5-10% universal flat additive damage per link… if the player chooses multiplicative links (slayer, damage to poison and disease will be favored at bosses), their dps is often 2-3x better than additive boosts

A great example of a better link is the new melee special link (absolutely love it)

Not asking to nerf it, but links like alchemy/healing could use a third boost or another useful utility boost.

Huge qol example: chance to not consume explosion potion or chance for 2x aoe range
 

Random moving whirlpool ocean portal to an ambrosia like secret island
 
Bring back balron or avenger like mobs that have a higher chance of dropping specific magic items

Since 2018 i have found 0 regular xbows in my hunting that i can use for my build, it would be awesome if a few mobs had a higher chance to drop the specific item you like

Another idea would be to burn essence (50) to boost a crafted item into force+exceed or eminent, unrepairable but higher base durability

***Another idea would be to have a universal 1% chance to find the gear you have equipped (magic bone armor and xbow)***
 
expansion will be rad! one of my fav launch mechanics was the difficulty of rift mages summoning demons 2018-2019 (felt like old balrons), we do 5-15x dps that now, maybe some "elder demon, ancient liches, lich lords, custom named mobs, red robe wizard pvm circles, elder dragons" could whoop ass from time to time
 
I hope I'm not posting out of place. I do not like the gun thing. I don't like introducing guns in Ultima Online. I think it takes away from the whole storyline having some kind of Westworld with cowboys and outlaws and God knows what else. Next thing you know there will be lynching parties and wagon trains. I'm sure if it wasn't politically incorrect there would be wild savages in war paint. This is not in keeping with the traditional theme. I'm sure someone is going to to be butthurt and jump all over me for my opinion, but I'm also sure that I'm not the only one that thinks this way. And I had to go through two different captias just to post this. So, good tidings? Who knows.

We have cannons and matchlocks already o.o
 
Pure archer lags behind my other weapons by 40% dps, bards make better archers from the double stacked bonus dips on multishot and richochet.

Suggestion: have a ranger guild requiring 100% dexxer skills for a small boost to non-stealth builds

Maybe 10% multiplicative damage bonus or something

Resist is also underperforming in pvm , consider giving it another perk or small multiplicative bonus or a bump to additive or make more monster special moves trigger the pvm bonuses and help tanking like time dungeon mobs

4 minute potions, 2min pvp.

Consider bumping crafted weapon bonuses as alternatives to item id.

1/2 % more damage per craft tier
 
Unlock alchemy book at 40-50 but limit to skill / 10 points (so 1-7) until 80 threshold then full 20 points. This would open up potion duration for many builds. 40-60 is common, so is 10-30.

The extra duration would be a great qol boon to many.

Duration + consumption boosters
 
Ranger bow “effect” (attach to any bow):

A special elf bow that only activates for non-chiv, non-stealth 7x dexxers enrolled in ranger school

- range of bow
- power of heavy
- speed of xbow
- 5% dodge chance


Lose benefits of chivalry (healing from others) , and cannot wear metal armor.

In pvp in functions as the underlining bow type without bonuses.
