The infamous Luka the Cruel, the son of Lord Landau and Queen Klara of Andaria, has not been seen for nearly thirty years.
Luka, earning fame and acclaim for his cruel and strategic nature, last threatened the realm at the battle of Break Pass in 606 AC where rumors swirled about his dark association with the Shadowlords. At the head of the Dark Banner Company, he led his men along with numerous humanoid monsters against the forces of Cambria. Although never proven, Luka the Cruel remains the top suspect in the disappearances of the rulers of the three Kingdoms during the Peace that Never Was in 609 AC.
Since those days, much like his father, Luka had seemingly disappeared…
Until now.
The early rumors of the return of Luka the Cruel were dismissed. But as time marched on and the rumors intensified, scouting parties were sent out by the three Kingdoms. In fear of an attack, the current rulers needed to know if this dangerous foe truly still lurked in Avadon.
Unfortunately, the rumors were found to be true. Luka the Cruel has returned! It is unclear what he wants, but he seems to be moving against the peripheries of all three of the major Kingdoms.
King Iaric IV of Prevalia, King Arshiya of Cambria, and Cailith the Sagacious of Andaria call upon the brave adventurers and soldiers of Avadon to meet this renewed threat and defend the civilized Kingdoms!
=====================================================
What is this?
Luka the Cruel will seize one of multiple locations. It is up to the adventurers of Avadon to ride out and meet him in battle!
This is a recurring event, the first of possibly several. When Luka emerges and seizes a location, a general Broadcast is sent to all players in the realm.
Luka and his cohort are akin to a Boss encounter except located in the overworld (and mostly at certain Points of Interest). These encounters do not grant any tokens of heroism and are not associated with the dungeon Boss mechanics in any way (no boss scores, etc). Should Luka be thwarted at any given location, treasure is dispensed across the battlefield while Luka retreats and plans his next attack...
When is it?
This recurring event will trigger randomly every 28-56 or so hours until stated otherwise.
Where is it?
Luka the Cruel will seize one of several locations at random. The location will be announced to all in-game like in the image above. This announcement will also show up in the #broadcasts channel in Discord.
What is the objective?
To drive back Luka the Cruel and the Dark Banner Company!
Is there a reward?
Yes! In addition to the treasures left behind by the slain, if Luka is forced to retreat then treasures are strewn across the battlefield.
Special, unique rewards in the form of broken Dark Banner Company weapons were created just for this encounter that cannot be found anywhere else:
One random broken weapon will be left behind whenever Luka is defeated. There is a rare chance that the weapon will have a special hue.
You may also find Black Coins, both on Luka's cohort and mixed within the treasure left behind on the field. Black Coins currently do not do anything on their own, but it is my intention to allow for them to be traded in the future (possibly at a black market or bazaar).
