[Video] How to Survive a PK Attack - 5 Great Tips for New Players.

@Maati While it's true you can't use the teleport rope in PvP - if you haven't flagged, or they haven't flagged on you, you can still use it to get a head start, and it can be the difference between living or dying..

@trammie_surprise loved the video - it's a great help to get this out there for new players - not enough of them truly get all the concepts. A couple of things I'd note in addition to the above - especially when in dungeons.
  1. plan your exit strategy: be aware of your environment - are you hunting in an area that will have you trapped when PK's come? How will you react when they do come?
  2. strength potions (white): these give you 20 extra str/hitpoints - if you see a PK - pop one of these, and give yourself the 20% extra health - this will allow you to start a bandage if you are bandage healing.
  3. bomb bags / trap pouches: don't be afraid to use one of these to take 1 damage - so you can start a bandage before you start taking damage. A wizard will lead with a precast explosion (with delayed damage), then ebolt to stack initial damage, so you can't start your bandage until they are part way through their dump, but with a little creativity, you can already have your bandage started via the str pot, or the trap pouch, and heal half way through their dump, saving yourself.
  4. Magery: If you have magery yourself, invisibility is a huge way to escape being found by a PK, or at least till they run by and you can run the other way - only useful if they haven't seen you yet.
Put most of these together when you initially see the PK.
You track a PK with your passive tracking - what to do?
  • Immediately start running to your planned exit route.
  • Use the teleport rope, to gain some distance - to buy yourself more time - hopefully it's in the direction of the exit :)
  • pop the strength potion, start a bandage - if your already at max str - pop the trap pouch to start the bandage.

I just want to make you aware you cannot use teleport ropes in PvP. Not sure if you were joking in this video but just wanted to clarify.
I was not joking thank you for the info. Maybe consider making them usable in pvp if a player has 0 magery skill, otherwise dexxers can be rendered useless by a well placed efield.

Thanks, I plan to do more videos to guide new players as the game has a steep learning curve that scares away many first timers. I will definitely use this information in a future video.

FYI - you can now use teleport ropes in PvP once every 2 min - as per a change a few months back.. Just wanted to update this for anyone new finding the thread..
