Patch Notes

Carpet Tiles

  • Players can now decorate their houses with Carpet Tiles
  • Carpet Tiles can be double-clicked while in a player's backpack to rotate through all of the possible tile pieces available in that set (such as Corners, Edges, Center pieces, etc)
  • Players can now purchase a variety of non-dyeable Carpet Tile pieces from the Prevalia Market under the Carpet Tiles category (each purchase is for one tile)
  • Players can now craft Gilded Dyeable Carpet Tile pieces with the Tailoring skill under the Utility category (each crafting makes 2 tiles)
  • Players can now find Dyeable Rug Tiles and Dyeable Carpet Tiles as loot on Monsters, in Dungeon Chests, Treasure Map Chests, Ships Holds, etc







Carpet Tile Dyes

  • Players can dye Dyeable Carpet Tiles and Gilded Dyeable Carpet Tiles with Carpet Tile Dyes
  • Players can find Rare Hue Carpet Tile Dyes (in similar colors to our Rare Cloth Drop Hues) in the same places they would encounter Rare Cloth drops
  • Players can find Dungeon Hue Carpet Tile Dyes as loot in dungeons
  • Players can purchase Reward Carpet Tile Dyes (such as Arena Carpet Tile Dye, Artificer Enclave Carpet Dye, etc) from those respective Reward Systems
  • We will be introducing Limited Edition Carpet Tile Dyes matching new and existing Limited Edition Cloth Hues





Prevalia Market

Clothing
  • Two new clothing items, Ornate Robe and Prim Tunic, have been added to the Prevalia Market under the Clothing category











Add-On Deeds
  • Add-On Deeds from the Furniture category of the Prevalia Market have moved and now been given their own category called "Add-On Deeds"



Rugs
  • Added Brown Bear Rug, Polar Bear Rug, Tiger Hide Rug, Horse Hide Rug, Cow Hide Rug, and Horse Hide Rug Add-On Deeds to Prevalia Market under the Add-On Deeds category

Barding
  • Any creature of 150 Difficulty Value or higher (such as Spectral Terrors, Elder Vampires, etc) will now receive Boss Barding effects instead of being Pacified or Provoked
  • Boss Barding effects reduce the Melee Attack Speed and Casting Speed of the creature by 25% and increase delay of Ability Cooldowns of the creature by 25%


Poker
  • Fixed an issue where High Card hands would "Play The Table" instead of solely playing the player's hands (and will now use the highest individual card among any player, if possible)



Loot Skulls
  • Loot Skulls will now convert to their underlying item when placed in the backpack of a Pack Animal or a Tamed Creature with the Mule trait


Notoriety and Flagging
  • Added a mechanic that ensures that players who attack another player's pet can be counter-attacked by them freely (i.e. will at minimum flag as grey) regardless of their Notority or Criminality
  • Fixed an issue where some players actions against themselves could be treated as Criminal (and therefore potentially result in guard whacking)
  • Fixed an issue where some players actions against themselves could flag them as being in PvP (and therefore starting the 2 minute pvp timer)


Blue player sees Murderer and their tamed creature



Blue player attacks Murderer's tamed creature (but not the Murderer themself)



Blue player now flags as grey to the Murderer and the Murderer can now defend their tamed creature


Blood Aspect
  • Fixed an issue where Blood Aspect armor's Stats Bonuses sometimes wouldn't correctly stay deactivated during PvP
  • Fixed an issue where Regen Timers (Hits, Stam, Mana) sometimes wouldnt automatically restart for a player wearing Blood Aspect Armor when their PvP timer expires and thier stat bonuses return


Storage Shelves
  • Platinum Trap Wire is now storable in Storage Shelves under the Tools category



Town Struggles
  • Players who participate in a Town Struggle, but spend 10 minutes or more AFK in a Town Struggle Base or outside of the Town Struggle town area, will be kicked from the event (and ejected from the base if currently inside one) and their account will be blocked from participating in further Town Struggles for the next 48 hours
  • After a Town Struggle has resolved, all players will be automatically ejected from any Town Struggles bases once 15 minutes have passed, and teleported to either Prevalia (if blue) or Corpse Creek (if red)
  • Anyone logging into a Town Struggle Base while a Town Struggle is not underway will be ejected to town (Prevalia for blues, Corpse Creek for reds)


Mount Breeding
  • Feeding Troughs will now be re-enabled
  • Feeding Troughs now have a LOS check for usage and may only be used by Owners and Co-Owners of the house
  • Sterilization Tablets can now be crafted with Cooking skill (takes 25 Nightshade) and can be used to reduce a Breedable Mount to 0% Fertility (the purpose of the item is so that players can breed rare mounts, sell them, and the new owner will not be able to immediately breed that mount to make new ones themselves)



Echo Cooldowns
  • Two new Player Enhancements, "Jack of All Trades" and "Jill of All Trades" have been added to the Customizations system
  • Each enhancement reduces the cooldown of Echoes for all characters on their account by 50% of normal, and if players have both purchased, will reduce a player's Echo cooldown down to 1 Hour (down from 12 hours)



Magic Item Recycler
  • Fixed an issue where the Magic Item Recycler wouldn't grant players achievement progress for Arcane Essence creation


Guild Dungeon Boss Summoning
  • When guilds summon an Ocean Mini-Boss or Ocean Boss, they will now be given the spawn coordinates of the creature
  • The total amount of "Gold Available" to spend for each Dungeon/Ocean location is now shown on the left side of the Dungeon section of the Guild Menu
  • The progress bar for each Dungeon/Ocean location in the Dungeon Guild section now shows progress towards the maximum amount of gold progress possible (i.e. amount needed to summon a Boss)



Mastery Chain Experience
  • Players at sea will now earn Mastery Chain Experience based on Doubloons earned, rather than gold earned


Ships
  • A check will now be made once a minute, where any non-friendly ghost players and ghost tamed creatures not belonging (not Owner, Co-Owner, or Friends) to a ship will be teleported to land similar to as if they sunk on a ship
  • Fixed an issue where Mounted players who sink on a ship would not have their Mounts teleport to land with them when sunk



Creatures
  • Fen Daemons summoned by Petram Cultists will now die after 15 minutes of being summoned
  • Any non-tamed creature using an ability against a player in a Guarded area will deal no damage


Collectable Card Tomes
  • Any player may now view a Collectable Card Tome, but only Owners and Co-Owners may remove cards from them


Wig Stands
  • A public Wig Stand will be made available on the Test Center to test out Unlocked Appearance Features


Titles
  • Fixed several player titles that were listed as "Legenary" instead of "Legendary"


Strangelands
  • Strangelands Reward Points are now shared and accessible across all characters on your account (rankings and scores are still tracked per player, however)
  • Fixed the achievement progress needed for the Strangelands Ranger (Advanced) Achieve to match the progress needed for similar achievements (10 sessions)

My fishing net rugs/carpets suffice just fine... not going to pay for this... maybe if it was an item drop, cool but not paying for it.

They do have some that are item drops?? And some craftable???

Nice patch Staff, hoping the next one sees the lore tome sort the pages alphabetical in them...

I suggested that for lyric aspect there is a chance on hit to place a heal over time on the bard or like +5hp to all in a radius. At this point that change has just killed the bards chance to farm high end stuff and I'm not even talking oss4 I've only been in there once. This is a huge hit ****. If a hit like this comes into place I feel like something needs to be done for more dps or more survivability. Why keep kicking the bards when the tamers still run the show? "

Seriously why do you keep nerfing the bard to make money and generally be useful when we have 0 survivability if a player comes and take much longer to kill stuff then other top tier dexxers and tamers. We are a glass cannon build. Why do you keep taking away our cannon but we still remain glass. we get a random 10 second heal to keep ourselves alive 20 hp? 40 hp? No one knows - hope you survive the next 10 seconds though buddy! Please do something about this we have players that have been bards from the beginning of the shard and are getting fed up with the nerfs.

Less glass or more cannon - quit nerfing the bards with out balancing us!!!!

I'm at the same point. Seriously.... idk about Terrors in Oss4 and shit, but i care about the balance here in general. I know my fav spot where T2 Elders in Maus and i can't farm them now anymore now what makes me sad, but that's not the point. Other "Classes" like Tamers and even normal Dexxers can still kill Elders way more easily than a bard ever will on high tier now. Now the people come and say "Go for Healing and Resists on the Bard", but it will not solve the problem, that you need to run 120 music, 120 peace and 120 disco on a bard anyways and still suck in barding chance! Lets say you make a normal Dexxer with 100 Macing, 100 Tactics, 100 Healing, 100 Resists, 80 Arms Lore, 120 Camping, 120 Tracking compare to a Bard with 100 Macing, 100 Tactics, 80 Healing, 80 Resists, 120 Music, 120 Peace, 120 Discord you will still suck against Mobs like Elders as Bardexxer. The Barding Chance is worse! The Dmg is worse! And your still a Glasscannon! So... whats the point to play a Bard now?! Even a normal Dexxer makes more dmg with Healing and Resists, Camping, Tracking and Forensics and can still face Elders without having any troubles and long waiting in trying to Bard a hight tier mob. Its like you wait for a 50% dmg boost on a Elder Vampier (since patch not anymore btw.) when trying to peace and discord while a dexxer with 60% dmg boost (120 Tracking, 120 Camping) still can face Elder without waiting time. I'm not talking about Tamers now, they will never get nerfed here. I would change my Template maybe to a normal Dexxer, but my problem now is, that i spend alot of time grinding my Masterychain up and have barding chance and dmg into it, what doesn't help me on a normal dexxer build. So sorry, but before i change everything now, its better to take another break. On the people who are saying its just 5 Mobs.... fuk off! Sorry! Your propably the people who playing a Tamer and bully Bards ingame!

I played a bard for 2 weeks after server launched then switched to tamer, haven't looked back. Tamers have been kings of pvm and strong in pvp for a long time. It seems like any other class that has come close to competing has been nerfed into irrelevance though. Summoners, Bards, Shadow/air dexxers, Bards again... outlands has gotta develop an alternative end game build to tamers at some point...

Yeah I've been playing a Bard as my main character since launch. Reason being is that I really enjoy playing a Bard template. But now with these nerfs it making far less enjoyable to play. I mean Bards already are the only class that have absolutely nothing to help them in PVP, and now making it more difficult for them to PVM competitively. I hate to say it but I think im gonna have to retire the Bard. It sucks to because i spent all that time investing into top tier lyric and unlocking links in chain to boost barding, and for what???? Ossy 4 gets released and Owyn see's bards making their way through the dungeon and gets tilted and puts into motion a nerf for bards. That's the reason for these nerfs. But let's not mess with balancing any other classes....say like TAMERS???

The barding changes impact only 5 monsters on the shard, all of which are intended to be our most difficult monsters. As you've all noticed (and yes, as intended), peacemaking immobilized the mobs and prevented them from attacking at all. Since the majority of the feedback posted above and in Discord during the initial discussion was given without testing, I would encourage you to try this new mechanic and then revisit your comments. The new barding effects on high end content are still very beneficial, especially when used in a group. And yes, the intention of our hardest content is that you can't solo your way through it with zero difficulty.

We are always striving to balance classes, and understand that Tamers and Summoners have been at the top of the pile for some time.

Can bards still beat a paragon (is it crea level 150+?) or do they have to call a real hero like a tamer to beat it?

I think Spectral Terrors are endgame content and I like it if they have boss level and are not peaceable. But every old content like elder vampires or paragons shouldnt be affected and still be able to be peaced.

Sorry Owyn but your worng! You said its so easy to macro barding skills overnight! Yes its is, but why not removing Prev Zoo instead and bring bards outside like tamers go tame?! Btw. I DID THAT at release, before i heard of Prev zoo! Also its not like that you done after you spend alot of money into 720 Skillpoints and 120 Peace, Discord and Music. Do you think your allowed to farm Elders at this point? No you need to be at least Tier 8 or 9 Lyrics (whats costs alot of money too) to KINDA enjoy farming Elder Vampirs. Barding is a real pain at this point anyways and if your not going Lyrics your fucked. So you stick with a expensive Aspect armour and than at Tier 13 your not allowed to Farm Elders but any other class without Zero Skill can do it?! I want to remember you that you can make a 5 x Dexxer with Camping and Tacking overnight aswell and this classes still can farm Elder Vampires in a cheap earth armor really quickly. I saw earth orc this days farming Elders and there was no risk! He faced Elder Vampire before i could bard them and killed them really quickly. There is also no risk for Tamers! They just All Kill and double Flame Strike! Same for Summoners! So long i see all this classes farming Elders at high tier without risk the probloem will be not solved for me! Now i need to make a Bard Summoner on a Echoe to finally farm Elder Vamps again. Sorry but your dissicions are wrong here. I wonder if you ever played on your own shard to make statements like "the intention of our hardest content is that you can't solo your way through it with zero difficulty" or you just there to fill the prev shop with new crap. Sorry for the language but statements like this it annoys me. There is NO RISK for any Class you play here at hight tier level! And yes it took me alot of time to get 8 Mastery Links for my Bard, just to see getting Bards nerfed again! I had no Problem with the Bossnerf, but this is to much now! If there would be any easy way to remove the links from my chain quickly i wouldn't cry here, but now i stick to useless links and i'm not allowed to kill high endgame content! Getting bullied from other classes and im not allowed to fight back in PvP! Wonderfull! And No! Making statements like get Healing and Resists are not helping in PvM and PvP! You die to PEC Zergs and Pk's anyways as Bard! Only hope is to tank high end content with Earth Elses as Bard now! I will give this a try. I hope this is RISKY enough for your.... lol

In the meantime the skill that has trivialized UO for an eternity, animal taming, is doing just fine and they don't even require veterinary on Outlands. This bard nerf is absolutely atrocious and I hope you listen to the few voices you have for them. Also, the mastery chain and link system is terrible coupled with an echo system that should inherently have no cooldown yet you slap a 5m gold + activate costs onto it to make it reasonable to use. o_O

Oss4 is meant to be a farming area that requires a group so the change makes sense but there are only two ways staff can make any other class compete with tamers. Nerf tamers, or give other classes a buff that makes them something special.

Getting mad and saying what they changed sucks doesnt help. Give them ideas guys!

Bards are have been overpowered sense launch and honestly make the server look bad. How much fun is it killing monsters that are completely paralyzed. Every other class including tamers has to think and react to what they are fighting, and to learn over time the timings and specials of monsters. Bards just sit there and wack a completely lifeless bit of code.
