Right... archers do so much face tanking. 
My point is that the number and color of links has become fairly meaningless as power is now determined by build more than anything. So ultimately "link printing" doesn't matter and there's no need to reduce it.
That leaves the only real issue with societies: that it's much more rewarding to do afk crafting jobs with zero risk than to undertake any of the active jobs, many of which are almost impossible to complete. Why spend all week trying to find 4 paragons in Pulma for 9 points, dealing with pks all the while, and risking all that time being wasted if you don't get lucky, when you could spend 15 minutes whipping out deadly poison kegs for a guaranteed 10 points?
